COM 1251 Public Speaking Contest

COM 1251 Public Speaking Contest – Win $250! Do you enjoy public speaking? Do you want to use your talents to compete for a cash prize? Are you interested in taking part of a JCU tradition that dates to 1916? Sign up for the Fall 2024 Public Speaking Contest! Presented by the Tim Russert Department of Communication First prize – $250 Second prize – $100 Third prize – $50 The competition features competitive speeches on any theme. YES, you are allowed to use the informative speech you presented in class and no additional research is required. The speech should be approximately six minutes in length. A preliminary round will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 7:30 PM. The top speakers from that round will be invited to the final event on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. Sign up by 5 PM on Wendesday, October 30, 2024 by providing your name and your COMM 1251 instructor’s name to Dr. Brent Brossmann at brossmann@jcu.edu.
